Happy Holidays!

One of the more difficult aspects of workamping is the inability to always be home close to family and friends during the holidays. We were fortunate to be able to see most of our family members a week ago but will not be home for Christmas day. On the other hand, one of the wonderful aspects of our traveling lifestyle is the ability to forge close relationships with our seasonal colleagues – they, in fact, become our family as we celebrate the season.

Last evening here at Traveler’s World, we had an employee holiday celebration! All employees and their significant others were invited to share food and drink and conversation – something that we don’t always have the opportunity to do, based on schedules and specific job responsibilities. I must say a good time was had by all as we feasted on great food, delicious drink, and shared an awful lot of laughter!

Our bosses, Brenda and Terry Vaupel, are two of the most genuine people I have ever met. Not only do they run a successful organization, but they also exhibit sincere concern and caring for all of their employees. This was obvious last night as we all received gifts and kind words while we communed outside of the workplace.

People continue to return to San Antonio and specifically to Traveler’s World year after year. True, it is a beautiful RV resort, but what makes people continually return is that feeling of family that emanates throughout the park – originating at the top with Terry and Brenda! A magnificent resort run by wonderful people – and these friends make the holidays a very special time of year, especially if you are away from home!

Happy Holidays!
