On Sunday, August 28th, Indigo Bluffs RV Resort, where we have been workamping since May, sponsored an afternoon concert for the benefit of the Empire Area Emergency Relief Fund. Blind Dog Hank was the band, consisting of three musicians, two guitarists and a trumpet player. After two days of rain, it was a beautiful day and not only did our campers attend, but also many people from the local community were in attendance.
Indigo Bluffs provided not only the pool venue but also hot dogs, brats, barbeque and beer, all of which was available for a suggested donation. Blind Dog Hank played and sang folk music, both originals and standards with a twist, and despite a few broken guitar strings and a musician tumble, a good time was had by all. throughout the past years, the Empire Emergency Relief Fund, supported soley by donations, has shared over $60,000 with area individuals and families who have fallen on hard times. They continue to plan events such as this in order to continue this mission.
